Meet Takis

Cretan Hound • Elefsina, Greece

Takis is a stunningly handsome 1.5-year-old Cretan Hound full of personality. Weighing in at a perfectly huggable 25-28 kilos, this sweet boy is affectionate, loyal, energetic and playful.

Takis had a really tough start to life—he was rescued in Elefsina from being kept tied up outside full time in the hot sun. He had a few pesky ticks and a minor scrape when he first arrived at the municipal shelter, but he's been fully treated for all of it, and is perfectly healthy.

Takis has a unique, fun, mischievous side. He might break into the bag of treats you brought for the whole gang, or do zoomies around a dog on a leash before slamming into you thigh for pets.

Takis is a social butterfly who is generally wonderful with other dogs. Because he is still a young pup, he can be a bit bossy or dominant sometimes, so he’s looking for an adopter who can give him the attention, structure, and gentle guidance he craves to be his best self.

Fun fact: Takis is allowed to walk himself, and runs along offleash with every dogwalk.
